How About a Pupdate?

How about a pupdate?I recently checked in with The Snack Cake puppies who are four months old! I was looking for pictures that the Humane Society could use for their brand new website.

The pups are living happy lives and clearly being loved enormously. Suzie Q goes to work with her mom, who is a vet tech, and is the star of the show at the vet office in Winchester. All the pups weigh around 30 pounds, so they’ve put on twenty pounds in two months! (and they are already bigger than their mother!)

You can see more pictures and get updates on the Another Good Dog Facebook group where some of the adopters have posted pictures and news. Be sure to check out the video of Honey Bun chasing her tail and the one of Twinkie watching TV. Those will put a smile on your face. I actually replay them when I need a mood boost.

I’ll share more puppy pictures in a moment, but first—a few more pupdates!

Krimpet did well with her heartworm treatment, was spayed, and was finally adopted! She is doing great in her new home outside of Harrisonburg. She’s got a new fursister, a wonderful adopter, and a happy life ahead!

Marley is still keeping me company, waiting patiently for her forever family to discover her. I’ve been getting her out for daily walks and adventures. She loves exploring, especially when we meet people. Yesterday she met a pack of little kids waiting to leave for school and was overcome with joy at their attention. She also met two loose dogs, which frightened me when they came barreling at us, but she just wagged her tail and enjoyed a brief sniff encounter before we moved along. She really is a good dog.

I’ve been giving her salmon oil that someone donated and it’s made her coat luxuriously soft. We’re also testing out a natural flea collar, so she smells like a peppermint! If you’d like to meet her or borrow her for a pupover, let me know. She’s always ready for company.

And please don’t forget about Gracie Lou. She has been in foster care either her or with her other foster in Maryland for about fifteen months now. She’s such a good girl and deserves a home of her own. As I scan my Facebook feed, I know there are Gracie Lous all over this country waiting in rescues and sadly being euthanized for space at shelters. I’m glad we are able to help Gracie Lou, she is one of the lucky ones. Now we just need her to be super-lucky!

(GL stats: 6 years old, 50 pounds, people friendly, picky about other dogs and will chase cats so probably needs a family all to herself, spayed, utd on shots, doesn’t need a lot of exercise, just a couch she can call her own.)

A few people have asked when I’ll be getting more foster puppies. My plan is to foster another litter after our next shelter tour in mid April.

Okay, now you can see the puppies!

I left a comment regarding your post on how helpful your husband has been with your passion for rescue but don’t know what happened to the post. I am very happy that you have a great supportive environment to pursue your wonderful, amazing rescue work. You are a mentor and inspiration to us all! Thank you and your husband!
